Construction Updates for the week of August 31 – September 4

1-26 Concrete Street Paving Project

Friday, August 28

• Hendricks Avenue between Ninth and Tenth Street paving west lane
• Sullivan Avenue between Ninth and Tenth Street paving west lane
• Eden Avenue between Ninth and Tenth Street paving west lane
• Eden Avenue between Eighth and Ninth Street paving east lane
• Parking – Ninth Street, north of Ninth Street (north of the 8^th/9^th Street Alley) along Hendricks Avenue and Sullivan, and north of Eighth Street on Eden Street
• The remaining lanes will be paved later the week of August 31^st.

Monday, August 31

• Center 2 lanes of Brill Road from Tenth Street to Seventh Street.  The outside 2 feet will be paved later the week of August 31^st.
• Parking on the west ends of Ninth Street, Eighth Street, and Seventh Street.
• Bens Way, Setter Drive or Boxer Street will be paved the afternoon of August 31^st
• Parking  – Bens Way south of construction area, Boxer Street south of construction area, Setter Drive east of construction area and Greyhound Street.

Tuesday, September 1

• The remaining streets of either Bens Way, Boxer Street or Setter Drive.
• The remaining lanes on Bens Way, Boxer Street or Setter Drive will be paved the week of September 7^th.

3-26 Alley Paving Project

• The Seventh/Eighth Alley and the Dixon/Seventh Alley are complete.  The landscape contractor will be doing some touch ups to the landscape restoration.
• If grass was planted along the alley behind your property, we ask that you water it when there is no rain.
• The contractor plans to start work on the Fourth/Fifth alley the week of August 31^st .  They will start removing the existing pavement, excavation, and placing stone in these alleys.
• The contractor may be removing and replacing the alley apron on the Thirteenth/Fourteenth alley at the Main Avenue the week of September 14^th

General Notes

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

• If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities.
