2-26 Wisconsin Avenue Area Utility Relay
Utility replacement will begin next week on this project. Please see the below map showing work locations and possible impacts for the week of June 29th. There will be no work on Friday, July 3rd for the holiday weekend, and crews will have the job site straightened up by the end of Thursday.
- Carl Bowers & Sons – Will have 2 crews on site all next week. It may be hard to navigate the job site during the day while work is happening. If you must come and go, please find an alternate parking space. As work progresses, it may be easier to access your driveway via Hayes Street, especially if you live further south on each street. Their plan for next week is as follows:
- Crew #1 – Will continue with Sanitary Sewer Main replacement on Idlewild Street, resuming where they ended today. They will continue to replace the sewer until they get up near Wisconsin Avenue where it ends. Once the main line is complete, they will then work on replacing sewer and water services to individual properties from the mains in the road up to the sidewalk.
- Crew #2 – Will continue with Sanitary Sewer Main replacement on Riverside Drive, resuming where they ended today. Once complete, they will also be working on sewer and water services to properties on Riverside. It is expected that they will have all work completed on Riverside (between Idlewild and Wisconsin) toward the later part of the week and will then move to Idlewild Street to work jointly with Crew #1 to get this street completed as well.

7-26 Ann Street & Main Avenue Utility Relay
- Feaker & Sons – They will continue utility replacement next week. Starting Monday they will resume the deep sanitary sewer replacement between Glenview and Sullivan. As they complete that at Sullivan, they will work south down Sullivan about 80′ to replace a chunk of sewer. Upon completion of these sewer items, they will then work on constructing the new water main in this same area between Glenview and Sullivan. If all goes well with these items, they may move to some additional sewer or water items in a nearby block.

General Notes
DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.
- If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.
WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.
* PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER *
Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities. Please do not hesitate to contact our Engineering Department with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
