Construction Updates for the week of September 28 – October 2

1-26 Concrete Street Paving Project

Week of September 28th

• Stake out curb and gutter on Setter Cul De Sac (M)
  • Martell-Set line (T)
  • Slip (W)
• Backfill & Restoration 9^th complex (M-F)
• 9^th complex and begin fine grade sidewalk  (M-F)
  • Sidewalk and driveway apron construction along Bens Way, Setter Drive and Boxer Street.

Week of October 5th

• Finishing the landscaping in the Ninth Street area, later in the week start landscape on Bens Way
• Finish the sidewalk and driveway apron construction on project.

3-26 Alley Paving Project

• The Seventh/Eighth Alley and the Dixon/Seventh Alley are complete.  The landscape contractor will be doing some touch ups to the landscape restoration.
• If grass was planted along the alley behind your property, we ask that you water it when there is no rain.
• The contractor is finished with the excavation and stone placement.  They plan to do the paving the week of October 5th
• The contractor may be removing and replacing the alley apron on the Thirteenth/Fourteenth alley at the Main Avenue the week of September 28^st .

General Notes

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

• If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities.
